Setting up Text Ordering and Receipts with uText Follow
The text messaging feature (uText) in your uAccept POS system allows customers to send orders to the device via text message, allows you to process the order, send a customized confirmation reply, and allows you to send a receipt via text message.

Enabling the uText Feature
To enable the text message ordering feature and configure phone numbers and customized messages for order processing, confirmation replies, and sending receipts, you will need to enable the feature in your cloud portal.
Text notifications and additional phone numbers are available as optional features with additional fees. Standard carrier text messaging rates may also apply. If you are no longer using this feature, you can disable it at any time. For current pricing details, click here.
To enable the uText feature, follow these steps:
1. Click the uText tab.
2. In the Status section, click Edit.
3. Select Free Trial or Enable.
4. Click Save.
5. After enabling the feature, navigate to the respective sections to configure phone numbers and customized messages.
Adding uText Phone Numbers
After enabling uText, you will need to purchase the use of a phone number for uText. You have the ability to purchase multiple phone numbers based on your needs.
To add a new phone number for text messaging to your uAccept POS account, follow these steps:
1. Click the uText tab.
2. From the uText Management screen, click Add Number(s).
3. In the Search Pattern field, enter 1 followed by your desired area code, then click the search icon.
4. From the list, select the phone number you would like to use for text message ordering.
5. Click Purchase.

Customize uText Messages
After enabling the text message feature and purchasing phone numbers, you can customize the text messages that will be sent from your business to your customers. If you wish, you can specify unique messages to be sent from each phone number you use, allowing for personalized communication.
To set up customized text messaging for each phone number, follow these steps:
1. Click the uText tab.
2. From the uText Management screen, click Edit next to the phone number you wish to set up.
3. From the Store drop-down menu, select the region/store to which you would like to apply the phone number for text messaging use.
4. From the Status drop-down menu, make sure Active is enabled.
You can customize the following standard text messages:
- Confirmation Message—automated reply to the customer that the order has been received.
- More Information Message—an employee will manually send this email if they have questions about the order.
- Order Being Made Message—an employee will manually send this email once they have submitted the order via the POS device.
- Order Ready Message—an employee will manually send this email when the order is ready to be picked up.
- Closed Message—automated reply to the customer that the business is closed.
4. For each message, enter the following fields:
- In the Message field, enter the text that will be sent to customers, or use the default text provided.
- In the Button Text field, enter the text for the message that will display on your POS device.
- From the Enable Auto Response drop-down menu, select Yes or No.
NOTE: The Enable Auto Response field is available only for the Confirmation Message and the Closed Message.
5. Click Save.
